But a 23-year-old from Santa Cruz may have crushed the record for the biggest wave ever surfed.

It happened on December 23rd at Mavericks, which is right off the coast here in Half Moon Bay.

They have not confirmed its height yet,

but they're calling it 108 feet.

The record currently is at 86 feet.

Oh, my God.

So it beat it by a lot, but I'm having trouble seeing how it measures.

Again, I don't go out in anything over 10 foot.

I already get my ass kicked in 10 foot surf.

This is more than 10 times.

I'm not even trying to say, like, you know, I couldn't.

I wouldn't even be on a boat a million miles away.

Does he have to stick the landing for this to qualify?

Because really, I mean, any flotsam can be on that 100 feet thing.
