The Supreme Court has struck down Trump's tariffs. The Supreme Court ruled six to three that the Trump sweeping tariffs imposed

under the 1977 emergency powers law were unconstitutional because the law doesn't

authorize the president to levy broad import taxes. You've got Chief Justice John Roberts,

who wrote the only, he wrote that only Congress has the power to impose taxes and tariffs and that the emergency power statute Trump used don't explicitly allow tariffs.

Now, this ruling doesn't ban all tariffs, and you've got to imagine that Trump's team is going to try some legal avenues,

of course.

Maneuvers to try to keep these tariffs in place. But the broad use of emergency powers were

rejected. Yeah. And so it was a six to three ruling. And so the dissenters were who you

would expect. It was Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh. So that means that

Justice Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett and Gorsuch went with the liberal justices on this move here.
