A case that could be instrumental in mass deportations is now going to the Supreme Court.

Now look, this case, the justices are going to be hearing oral arguments on whether the federal courts can review

cases to revoke a person's visa petition to the United States, meaning again that if they wanted

to mass deport people, you'd have legal challenges all over the place. If this, depending on the judgment,

this can make it so it bypasses that process. Now the case is Bofra v. Mayorkas.

It basically is about Amina Borfra, who is a U.S. citizen and her husband, Allaha Hamail,

whose visa petition was revoked after immigration authorities claimed that he had entered into a fraudulent marriage with his ex-wife to gain

legal residency in the United States. Now, if they took this up with the courts, and now the

question before the Supreme Court is whether or not a federal court can review an immigration

agency's decision to revoke a visa petition.

So for example, ICE, for example, right, immigration authorities.

If they want to revoke that, can it be challenged legally by the courts if, again, these other federal authorities want to revoke that?

Washington Examiner says this says the final

decision could have wide-reaching implications and make it more difficult for

immigrants to contest decisions about their ability to remain in the United States

as Trump campaigns for the presidency on a promise to initiate mass deportations if reelected.

And they say, quote,

this is a technical dispute over whether courts can review the government's decision

to revoke an immigrant visa on the ground that had initially

misapplied non-discretionary criteria.
