Welcome to another episode of Mistrial. I am thrilled to be here with our co-hosts, one of our three co-hosts,

Donya Perry, who's my colleague in law and in podcasting. Kathleen, unfortunately, Kathleen Rice,

a former member of Congress, former Nassau County, New York District

Attorney, she is away, and so she couldn't join us, but we didn't want to miss this momentous,

momentous Supreme Court decision and the opportunity to discuss it and how it applies to all

of the pending cases against Donald Trump, but also

how it's most specifically, and what I'm interested in talking to you about, Donya, is how it's

going to apply to the Manhattan DA case, you know, the Manhattan DA's office where I worked for

30 years and you represented Michael Cohen in this exact case. So this is a trial that

was near and dear to both of us and I think we should really talk about what we think since

you were in court a lot of it and I followed it very, very closely, obviously. We should talk about

how this immunity decision is going to impact it.

You know, to just today as we are recording, the case has been put over.

It was supposed to be sentenced July 11th and it's been put over now to September.

So we have a lot to talk about on this episode of mistrial.

It's a huge, huge, probably the biggest case in our

lifetime, this immunity decision, that in Dobbs, frankly, overruling Roe versus Wade. I would say

those are probably the two biggest Supreme Court cases in our lifetime. And so as practicing

lawyers and former prosecutors, I think there's nobody I'd rather talk about it with

than you, Donya, and have this conversation. Let's just dive right in and talk about this

incredible decision that came down, essentially making the president king. I mean, that's what the dissent is saying, right?
