Well yesterday the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed a case that was filed against the federal

drug administration for wrongfully expanding access to the drug Miffa Pristone.

That's the first of two drugs that are utilized for medical abortions.

The lawsuit was brought by the Alliance defending freedom on behalf of a group of medical professionals

known as the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine.

When originally approved by the FDA back in 2000, Miffa Pristone could only be prescribed by a licensed physician

after an in-person appointment and also required an in-person follow-up in order to ensure the abortion

had been completed, quote unquote safely.

Then in 2016 the Obama administration expanded the list of those who could prescribe the drug and also eliminated the twoweek follow-up requirement.

Then, during the pandemic of 2021,

the Biden administration went further,

first temporarily lifting the in-person requirement

before later that year removing it entirely.

This allowed doctors to prescribe the lethal drug via telehealth and patients

to receive it via the mail.

In 2023, after the Dobbs ruling reverse Roe v. Way, the Biden administration then removed even

more restrictions on Mifopristone, including now allowing retail pharmacies to dispense it.

So early in 2024, both Walgreens and CVS, the two largest

pharmacy chains in the US, announced that they would begin offering the
