Summary
July 1, 2024, is a dark day in American history. A captured, right-wing Supreme Court granted immunity to Donald Trump for the crimes he committed against the American people - crimes he committed to unlawfully and unconstitutionally retain the power of the presidency after losing the 2020 election.
Now, the American people are left to be the jurors - and we will declare Trump guilty at the ballot box come Nov. 5.
Glenn reviews the Supreme Court decision, a powerful dissent by Justice Sotomayor joined by justices Karan and Jackson, and talks about the silver lining that is STILL out there.

| 0:47.9 | to protect Donald Trump, they gave him a second layer of immunity, something they call presumptive presidential immunity and |
| 0:58.1 | we're going to talk about those concepts in a few minutes. But what I want to do today, friends, is just focus on a little bit of the opinion, |
| 1:08.0 | a good bit of justice, Sotomayor's dissent, |
| 1:12.0 | and then toward the end of today's video, we're going to talk about |
| 1:16.9 | the silver lining. Now, yes, in order to see it, you have to sort of close one eye and |
| 1:22.4 | squint with the other and turn your head just so, but there is a silver lining. |
| 1:28.0 | And rather than trying to cover the entire opinion today, we'd be here all day. There's a lot in |
| 1:35.1 | there to unpack. There's a lot to dislike. There's also a little bit to like. But |
| 1:41.4 | let's start with a little bit of the new reporting about this opinion and you'll see |
| 1:47.6 | from the cover of it, page one, how I feel about it. But I want to start with a headline that comes from the |
| 1:57.0 | Washington Post and you'll see a whole series of headlines along these same lines. |
| 2:03.0 | This from the Washington Post, |
