The Hello and welcome to Disney Story Origins supplemental number three, The Tangled Frozen Mermaid Theory.

First let me apologize for my voice. I'm still recovering from the flu which is

run rampant among all of my family and friends and I suppose I could just take to the bed but I miss you guys. I have this new Hyle PR40

dying to use. And while writing episode 6 The Little Mermaid, I finally found an excuse.

I wanted to address the fan theory that's been floating around the internet since mid-2014, and that is that the shipwreck that Ariel explores in the early minutes of Disney's The Little Mermaid

belonged to the parents of Anna and Elsa from Disney's frozen. I was going to include it in the body of episode six, but I decided that it wandered too far off of the narrative

and would be more of an annoying interruption of the story. But since it's been a while since I was in front of a mic,

and I haven't given you guys much in the past few months.

Why not?

So while I really like this rumor and would love for it to be true, I disapprove of how some of the conclusions are jumped to by the

Huffington Post, who didn't fact-checked or do much substantial research on the subject.

And no, it's just a fan theory, and we're just talking about three cartoons. It's no big deal. People do take

it seriously and if you're going to make claims you should be more tactful about it and check

your facts. The rumor goes like this. Rapunzel and Flynn

writer from Disney's Tangled are getting married, right? Anna and Elsa's

parents while crossing the ocean to attend Rapunzel's wedding are capsized and killed, their ship

sinks, and Ariel winds up exploring it at the bottom of the ocean in the early scenes of the

Little Mermaid.

Now Tangled and frozen are connected.
