T'was the night before merry Sprouty Day.

T'was as calm as can be.

Not one veg was stirring, not even a pea.

Su Potato hung the decorations with care, hoping I, Sprouty Clause, would shortly be there.

When suddenly arose a crash and a clatter,

Supatato leapt up to see what was the matter.

What could he see through his potatoey eyes?

A sprout or a train?

My, what a surprise!

As the steam engine came to a thundering pause,

Supertato knew it must be me, Sprouty Clause.

I spoke not a word, but with presents stacked high, delivered surprises with a keen green

eye.

Back on board my train, I gave a little toot, then sped away faster than a tumbling fruit,

and with the wind in my leaves, I bellowed with glee.
