I want to get into the news of the day. So we talked about this yesterday on the program. There was a report that had surfaced that said that Joe Biden was planning to forgive and cancel a certain amount of student debt.

Today it was officially announced that Biden will cancel $10,000 in federal student loans for millions of borrowers who earn you have to earn less than $125,000 a year individually or 250,000 for couples who file jointly.

Now, Pell Grant recipients who this is like the majority of student loan borrowers will be eligible for 20% of student loan cancellations and Pell grants are federal their federal subsidies given based on financial.

Needs typically don't have to be repaid, but Biden also announced if that wasn't good enough, Biden also announced that he is extending the moratorium on student loan debt payments until December 31st this.

I can't even I don't even remember how many times he has extended this at this point. It's been over and over and over again.

And you know, interesting move to forgive all of this debt in the time of inflation and recession. Really interesting.

Wonder what economists consulted him on this, but also an interesting move because you might say I don't think Joe Biden as the president has the power to actually do this.

Will you be correct because Nancy Pelosi even just several months ago this was in April of 2022 even admitted that the president doesn't actually have the power to forgive and cancel student debt.
