And I'm Greg Cutt, but first we've got to pay tribute to the recently deceased Jerry Lee Lewis.

We need to pay tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, one of the architects of rock and roll. The last of the great 50s innovators,

the innovators, the last man standing from that era, 87 years old. Inevitable, we all have to go sometime, but Jerry Lee in so many ways seemed indestructible.

Oh for sure, but him and he survived everything.

And everybody knows about the string of hits at Sun Records with Sam Phillips in Memphis in the 50s.

And there's a bearer family who put out these box sets. And I remember buying that box set when I was younger, just to sort of learn about the guy.

And they had a lot of interstitial material there. What was the dialogue like between Jerry Lee and Sam Phillips in the studio when he's recording great balls of fire, for example.
