Super Tuesday has given way to withdrawal Wednesday, with Nikki Haley announcing that she's suspending her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

But critically, crucially, controversially, she's not endorsing Donald Trump.

Instead, she's quoting another famous politician.

I have always been a conservative Republican and always supported the Republican nominee.

But on this question, as she did on so many others, Margaret Thatcher provided some good advice

when she said, quote, never just follow the crowd. Always make up your own mind.

It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him.

And I hope he does that.

After the results came in last night, it was pretty clear to all of us watching that Nikki Haley had no path to the nomination or indeed to the presidency.

She made up her mind last night, but it is always a moment to see somebody acknowledge that that time has come to stop campaigning.

And she said she did so with no regrets, but with no particular

encouragement to Donald Trump. Welcome to the newsagents USA.

Can you tell me why so many people that support Donald Trump love conspiracy theories, including yourself?

He seems to attract lots of conspiracy theorists.

Well, let me tell you, you're a conspiracy theorist, and the left and the media spreads more conspiracy theories.

We like the truth. We like supporting our Constitution, our freedoms in America first.
