Hey, I'm Teresa Caputo. You might know me as the Long Island medium.

Why do people call me that? Well, I talk to the dead.

My job is to help spirit communicate to their loved ones here in the physical world

that they are safe and at peace and that there is more to life than this.

This podcast gives me the opportunity to share my gift with more people than ever before

and to give all of you a better understanding of how I communicate with spirit.

Loving someone who struggles with addiction is an incredibly difficult situation to be in,

because as much as you care for them, sometimes you have to show them tough love too.

My guest today, Kim, whose son recently lost his lifelong battle with addiction is now figuring

out how to move forward. I'm Kim. I am from Texas, Central Texas. I was hoping to connect with my son

who recently passed around the first of the year. I guess I was wanting to hear that he was

at peace. He was quite a strong person. He was larger than life. He was my first

natural born son, oldest, and he struggled with addiction for a long time. And it's a disease

that he bowled, I guess, his 35 when he died. So 21 years.

The one thing that I tell all my clients is, please do not be afraid to speak to me. You're not

going to interrupt. You're not going to mess anything up. And most certainly, you're not going

to give me anything. Spirit already knows what you need to hear today, not what you want to hear.

And what we need to hear to make tomorrow a little bit easier, not easy, but a little bit easier

in knowing that they are still with us just in a different way. And more importantly,
