This week Robert speaks with Fastned co-founder Michiel Langezaal about their growing roll out of premium charging stations across Europe.

With the aim to provide electric vehicle drivers with "the most welcoming charging experience", Michiel shares his insights and perspective on this fast growing and constantly developing essential piece of the electrification of transportation puzzle.

Fastned is a Dutch company that owns and operates a network of over 200 EV charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Switzerland. Hello and welcome to another episode of the Fully Charged Podcast. My name is Robert

0:16.4

Luenan and Fully Charged is a show about electric vehicles, renewable energy and the coming

0:22.9

energy transition as we slowly and painfully but positively move away from burning fossil

0:29.5

fuels to do everything we need to do. I just want to point out that currently this house that I'm

0:35.3

in, my studio and all the lights and all the electricity that's running all the computers and the

0:40.1

servers and the routers is running on a tiny just enough solar to charge the batteries in the building

0:49.2

behind me. So this is a solar powered episode but believe me that was quite a challenge on a day

0:55.8

in November in the UK when it wasn't very sunny. There was this one block of sun in the middle of the

1:00.6

day and I saved that, I cheated because I stopped the battery draining to do other things. So

1:06.8

you know it's debatable how solar, this is solar, the electrons that are running this are coming

1:11.4

from solar panels. Just wanted to say that because there is a solar element in what we're talking

1:15.3

about today. So this is, I'm talking today to the man, the co-founder of this company, this is,

1:22.9

I love this, is my Lego fast-nade charging hub. There's only two charges here, 350 kilowatts

1:31.0

and some flowers and the roof. So that's what fast-nade, that's what I'm talking to today is,

1:36.1

I'm talking to Michael Langazal who is co-founder of fast-nade, big European charging network,

1:42.2

we've seen them many times, we've used their facilities many, many times on our trips around

1:47.4

Europe in various electric cars. They now have loads, I mean, every go in the Netherlands, there's

1:53.0

loads of them and also now in Germany and in Belgium, just been putting a lot in Belgium,

1:57.5

northern France and also the UK. There are I think two currently in the UK, one in Oxford,

2:03.4

where we've been to see, very nice, use those charges. Here's the thing, nothing spectacular,

2:08.8

it's where you stop to charge your car, end of discussion. But what it is, it's undercover,

2:14.0

solar panels on the roof and it's well lit at night and the charges work. There you go,
