He most recently starred in TVLand's β€œThe Jim Gaffigan Show” and Comedy Central’s β€œAnother Period.” He also reprised one of his iconic film roles in Netflix’s β€œWet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later,” and previously in "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp." His third standup comedy special, β€œNoted Expert,” was released on Epix.

Black’s authored 11 books, including the recently released best seller, β€œA Child’s First Book of Trump.” He’s written two well-received memoirs: β€œNavel Gazing: True Tales of Bodies, Mostly Mine (but also my mom’s, which I know sounds weird)”, and β€œYou're Not Doing It Right: Tales of Marriage, Sex, Death and Other Humiliations.” In 2012, he collaborated with conservative Meghan McCain on β€œAmerica, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom.” He’s the author of β€œMy Custom Van (and 50 Other Mind-Blowing Essays That Will Blow Your Mind All Over Your Face),” and seven children's books, including β€œCock-a-Doodle-Doo-Bop!,” β€œNaked”, β€œChicken Cheeks,” β€œThe Purple Kangaroo,” β€œA Pig Parade Is A Terrible Idea” and β€œI'm Bored.” He also writes book reviews for the New York Times.

Previously, Black released two stand-up specials, β€œVery Famous” and β€œI Am A Wonderful Man.” He and Tom Cavanagh host the popular podcast, β€œMike and Tom Eat Snacks.” He also writes and hosts a podcast with Michael Showalter, "Topics,” and his own interview podcast, β€œHow To Be Amazing.” He hosts β€œDebate Wars” on SeeSo, and he recently hosted β€œEasiest Game Show Ever” on Pop TV.

Sketch comedy fans know Black’s work on β€œThe State,” β€œViva Variety,” β€œStella” and β€œMichael and Michael Have Issues” all of which he co-created, wrote and starred in. Other TV credits include quirky bowling alley manager β€˜Phil' on the NBC series β€œEd,” and his hilarious commentary on cable’s β€œI Love the...” series. He recently starred in two hit web series that migrated to cable TV: β€œBurning Love” on E! and β€œYou’re Whole” on Adult Swim.

Black’s movie roles include β€œSlash,” β€œSmosh: The Movie,” β€œThey Came Together,” β€œHell Baby,” β€œThis is 40,” β€œWet Hot American Summer,” β€œTake Me Home Tonight,” β€œReno 911!: Miami,” β€œThe Ten” and β€œThe Baxter.”

Black wrote and directed the film β€œWedding Daze,” starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher. He also co-wrote the comedy β€œRun, Fatboy, Run,” directed by David Schwimmer and starring Simon Pegg, Hank Azaria and Thandie Newton.
