What was it like in your house growing up?

You know it was a big deal.

My dad and my mother, they were both social justice advocates they were activists as well I mean you

imagine an interracial couple getting married a year after the loving decision

came down so I think in a sense they felt that they owed the movement.

And my father would often say,

why are we celebrating President's Day?

Why are we celebrating Washington's birthday when he owns slaves?

Like they were very politically astute and informative for you.
