Amen. So for those of you who are joining us for the first time right now, we're in between books of the Bible.

The plan is, Lord willing to begin a series through the book of Ezra. We have completed a series through the book of Joshua.

And during this interim period of time, we're taking assortment of various texts. Each Lord's day having a primary text of

scripture, but focusing on the grace of God and focusing on the gospel that we're saved by grace

through faith in Christ alone. We're finished our series through Joshua focusing on what it looks

like to conquer the land as the people of God. Ezra will focus on what it looks like to conquer the land as the people of

God. Ezra will focus on what it looks like to rebuild the ruins of a land that had been conquered

previously by God's people but because of faithlessness to the covenant a land that God's people

had eventually been rejected from because of their failure.

And so those are the focuses with Joshua and Ezra.

But in the meantime, in between, we're focusing again primarily on the gospel of grace.

Our text for today is going to be Jonah chapter 1.
