Summary

The Law of God, both its blessings and its curses, have been issued to all people, not only God's people. It is for women and children, not merely heads of households; it is for the sojourner, as well as the native by blood. And in God's Law is contained both blessings and curses.

“If you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 28:1-2 ESV

0:55.9	these wicked people. I then pulled out for us the primary principles of our text. Today,
1:03.6	we're now finishing Joshua, chapter 8, with the final five verses, or six verses. This is going to be
1:10.7	Joshua chapter 8, verses 30 through 35.
1:15.1	Let's go ahead at this point and stand, if you will, for the reading of God's word to show
1:19.9	reverence and honor. I'll read our text in its entirety. When I finish reading these verses,
1:26.1	I'll say this is the word of the Lord, at which point I
1:28.4	would appreciate very much if you would respond by saying, thanks be to God. Our text for today is
1:34.3	Joshua chapter 8, verses 30 through 35. The Bible says this. At that time, Joshua built an
1:41.4	altar to the Lord, the God of Israel on Mount Ibal. Just as Moses, the servant of the
1:47.6	Lord, had commanded the people of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of
1:53.5	uncut stones upon which no man has wielded an iron tool. And they offered on it burnt offerings to the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings.
2:03.9	And there, in the presence of the people of Israel, he wrote on the stones a copy of the law of Moses,
2:10.2	which he had written. And all Israel, sojourner, as well as native-born, with their elders and
2:16.6	officers and their judges, stood on opposite
