We have a lot of news, too, including the threat of a federal government shutdown this week. The last major shutdown happened during President Trump's first term, and it lasted more than a month. But there are signs of movement this morning, so we're following that for you. Yes, we're getting into all of that. Also breaking overnight, a terrifying scene at a waterfront bar in

North Carolina, a gunman pulling up on a boat in opening fire, the Coast Guard detaining a man

and handing him over to local authorities. But we do begin here with team coverage. We are following

two major weather stories this morning.

The tropical threats for parts of the East Coast and the deadly flash flooding in Arizona.

The state's governor there declaring a state of emergency local officials describing the damage as devastating.
