I think it was after a bachelor party, but bachelor party or not, I know it was an exhausting weekend of eating, drinking, and spending more money than I probably should have been spending.

The main indicator of this was the look on the flight attendant's face when I boarded the flight.

I'm not sure she knew the full scope of what I'd done all weekend, but she knew that I'd done something.

It was 8 o'clock in the morning and I was attempting to get the hell out of dodge by way of delta airlines.

For frankly, the idea of having to set a 6am alarm the Sunday after a bachelor party hovered over me all weekend.

What if I was still awake from the night before?

What if I sleep through my alarm? What if I just forget to set my alarm all together?

If any of those scenarios played out, my scariest would be amplified by the rush I felt upon waking up,

the annoyance of having to rescudate with my flight, and the lingering feeling of, will I or won't I take off today?

But once I sat down on my seat, Nate at Chobani Yogurt handed me by that same flight attendant from earlier,

I knew I had made the right decision. I took the early flight home.

Taking the early flight is something I've preached before in a regular Monday column I write.

Too often, I hear the horror stories of flight cancellations, lingering hangovers in foreign cities,

and the hell that is a bumpy flight after your scary has already set in.

You know, when booking any sort of occasion, it seems natural to want to give yourself some time

on that final day. After all, for the first time in months, that's exactly what you have. Time.

For reasons that don't need explaining, a 4pm return trip seems a lot sexier on the surface than

a 7am return trip does. The alarm clocks, the ubers to the airport, the hangover, it all creates
