Welcome to do it? Yes, he will. Welcome to Susie Larson Live Sunday edition. So glad you're here. Don't know if you've heard some of these Sunday editions in the past, but it's a totally different format than our format during the week where I have a guest. We talk for an hour. We have breaks. None of that's happening here. We're just snuggling up together with a cup of cozy, diving deep into a topic, a deeper life topic. And today I want to look at shaking off shame.

0:39.3

It's a real sinister culprit. You know, I used to wonder, is it just sort of an emotional event?

0:45.2

But I see it as something altogether different now. It's the enemy's way of really sucking the life right out of us.

I'm going to draw some content from my book, Your Powerful

0:55.2

Prayers, Reaching the Heart of God with a bold and humble faith. What I want to say about shame is

1:00.1

oftentimes it gets masked for integrity, selflessness, humility, but as you know, those things

1:25.2

you, but you feel disconnected from the power source,

1:28.6

or maybe you feel like you don't have the freedom to run boldly into his presence and ask

1:34.4

for things that make your knees quake. And if that's you, it's quite possible that you're

1:40.3

carrying around a load of shame. In fact, the more we get to know God, the more passionately

1:45.9

and persistently we find ourselves praying. And so if you're not a persistent prayer, no shame,

1:51.6

no judgment, but it could be that shame is keeping you from that, keeping you from profound and

1:57.8

deep intimacy with God, which then compels you to ask him for great things.

2:02.8

He wants that kind of a relationship where you walk so intimately with him that your heart

2:08.4

beats in rhythm with his, that you start to ask him for things that are on his heart,

2:13.1

because suddenly his desires become your desires.

2:16.8

He wants that kind of fellowship. He wants that

2:19.8

kind of partnership. Now, sadly, many approach him in a transactional way as if he's a means to an end.

2:27.3

I'm just going to pray for everything about myself, everything that I want all the time.
