Welcome to do it? Yes, he will. Welcome to the Sunday edition of Susie Larson Live. I'm so glad to have this time with you. And if you listen to the show often enough, you'll notice the format of this particular show, the Sunday edition, is just different. And I like it that way. There are no breaks. We just have some intimate time to snuggle up with a cup of cozy. Maybe it's a cup of tea or coffee or a protein shake and just talk deeper life issues. I want to continue

0:39.6

talking about praying boldly. I'm pretty sure I've shared this story on the show in years

0:45.7

past. I don't think I have recently, though. This part of it, you I'm sure have heard before.

But in the early years when I was battling Lyme disease, my dear husband became a workaholic,

0:55.5

and it really wasn't his fault. He was being so noble to try to keep his family in our house

1:02.2

and keep food on the table. So he took on three jobs, and he was downright heroic. But years later,

1:08.6

when the crisis settled down, my dear husband, didn't slow down. And it really was a problem for us in our marriage. At first, I just endured because I thought he's been so heroic, done so much. And his patience with me and my, you know, I had a lot of shame around the illness that I battled and just the stress that caused our family. So I endured for quite a while without saying much. After Wildlight,

1:28.6

I was running out of steam and it just was losing that love and feeling, just feeling like

1:32.7

this is not sustainable. I'm sending up the warning flares. You know, this is not working.

1:37.0

You got to slow down. We don't need you to be working like that, you know. And he says,

1:42.0

looking back, he just felt sure that we're a solid Christian family

1:46.0

we're going to be okay and he just needed to finish this next project and then finish this

1:51.1

next project but it started to really really take a toll and the company that he was with at the time

1:57.0

was just a burner you know it's like they just burned their guys out. And my husband,

2:01.9

who's got high capacity, was being stretched to his limits. He would come home, just with

2:08.0

kind of tousled hair, bags under his eyes. It was unsustainable. I couldn't stand it anymore.

2:14.3

And I'd found a passage of scripture. I should have it ready here. I don't have it,

2:17.9

but it's in, I think, First John, but it says, this is my paraphrase. But if you pray God's will, you can know that he hears you, and you can know that you'll have that which you've asked of it. And I went to the Lord. I'm like, Lord, this is not your will. I know this is not your will. I know it's your will that my honey be in rhythm

2:37.1

with his work-life balance. I know it's your will that my sons have more time with their dad and I

2:42.7

have more time with my husband. And so, Father, I'm appealing to you on the basis of this promise.

2:48.0

So we're in alignment. I know that. My heart beats and rhythm with yours.

2:52.0

You have a better plan. So show me how to pray because I'm grabbing hold of promises and I'm not
