I want to talk about prayer for the next several weeks. It's one of my favorite topics, and

specifically today I want to focus on how prayer helps you break free from the bondage of

other's opinions. When you immerse yourself in prayer,

and it's not just flinging words into the sky, it's abiding in the vine, abiding in Jesus,

speaking to your father about the laments, the hurts, the fears and the dreams that are on your

heart, and then listening for his voice and his input, the more that

you identify as a child of God, someone God loves, someone Jesus died for, the more you will

understand, you're worth your value that is God-given and is never up for grabs and never

changeable with popular opinion. The more that you abide in the vine and the more

that you know this love, the more you are changed from the inside out. And I like to say it this way,

you know, an unhealthy person who says they don't care about the opinions of others, you hear people

say, I don't care what people think of me. When they say it like that, often, it's because they care too much what people think about them. To the point, they've hardened their heart, they've locked their elbows, they've kept people out, kept people away, but there's no life going in, no life going out. And then the other extreme is there's those living at the mercies of other's opinions and the slightest funny look on someone's face, or they

didn't email back or text back quick enough, and their day goes south because they're very

sensitive to the idea that they might be about to be rejected. And I'm not even condemning that.

I've lived that way for a lot of years. If you have a sensitive spirit, you're picking up on things

at times. And sometimes you see things that aren't there. Maybe you have a sensitive spirit, you're picking up on things at times. And sometimes you see

things that aren't there. Maybe you have a sensitive spirit, and you've been profoundly betrayed and

rejected. And so you pick up on those things. So again, no condemnation, but it is something. It's an

invitation to heal from, right? I'm going to be drawing from my book, Your Powerful Prayers,
