I'm always wanting you to grab a cup of cozy and scoot in.

And let's just lean in and have some deeper life conversation together.

What's not my heart to share today as we're in the season where we are

talking about and celebrating the fact, the fact that Jesus lived, he died and he rose again.

When he walked out of that grave, the impossible became possible.

He didn't just defeat sin and the grave.

The Bible says he made a public spectacle of the powers that oppose us.

In Luke 1019, he told his disciples, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.

You can walk among snakes and scorpions and

crush them and nothing will injure you. I think about the story in the Gospels when the disciples

following Jesus' lead went right into a storm. Have you ever been on Jesus' heels,

listening for his voice, knowing you're following him, and he leads you

right into the storm, and you're like, did I hear this right? And the enemy is like, are you sure?

You heard right. Jesus sometimes leads us into a storm because he has things to teach us there.

Many of us are walking through a storm right now. Maybe you've heard me talk about this before,

but the two things I glean out of that

particular story in the Gospels are these, rest and authority. Jesus modeled rest because he

fell into deep, deep sleep to the point where he needed to be awakened in a storm that seasoned fishermen thought they

would die in. He was in some deep kind of sleep to have to be, you know, grab his shoulder,
