This is a shorter form, and it's really just you and me, snuggling up with a cup of cozy,

having a more intimate talk about the things of God. And I'm continuing a series,

just drawing from my Advent devotional, prepare him room. And I want to talk with you about cultivating a listening life. If you've listened to this show before or heard me speak before, you maybe have heard me bring this up because I'm passionate about it. But years ago, I studied, you know, how did the Israelites lose their way? Because we're all prone to wander. You know, the old hymn, prone to wander. Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave this God

just reverberate in my spirit. I want to know what mistakes did they make so I don't have to make

those mistakes. And the first mistake they made over and over again, and it really

led to their demise and their wandering and their exile and their captivity and their judgment

was they stopped listening to God. That was their first mistake. They stopped prioritizing the

voice of God. And by virtue of turning away from the heart of God. I mean, if you read what God

says about it, you can tell it's like, this is my layman's perspective. I heard his feelings. And he's not

sensitive and fragile. He's mighty and majestic. But you can imagine as a good father, it broke his heart. He's like, you treat my word

like trash. You don't receive my correction. You no longer tremble up my word. You're no longer seeking my
