This is going to be interesting.

Thank you so much for coming, Andy. I feel like the last

time we saw each other, it was my New Year's party and we were both extremely drunk and sharing

the last Iranian cigarettes. I wanted to say, I hope I am more vocally capable than I was last time I

was here at one of those parties. But I did want to come here to record the

episode because it's very good to walk through South Williamsburg to get in the headset

of discussing this book. And I'm sure it's been really interesting for you writing this book over

the last seven years, right? It took you seven years to write this.

Living in, I think, the largest Yiddish-speaking community remaining in the world, right?

And then also just, you know, the events of the last seven years, it must have been really

interesting to write this book. I know that I found myself many times thinking this book

needs to come out as soon as possible. Thank you.

Well, for those who don't know, I live in a Puerto Rican Dominican building in Satmar Williamsburg.

And the Satmar community are first, yes, one of the largest Yiddish-speaking communities in the world,

probably the fastest growing Jewish sect in America.
