It's all started with a lie. A small, cute, white lie.

It was a storybook moment, I would think.

We see each other all time, but hardly ever talked.

She said she was having some car problems and needed help working on her car.

So I swung by her house and her car wasn't broken.

It was working just fine.

She just wanted a date for Valentine's Day.

Travis Harper is an air traffic controller, former Marine, father of three.

And he's describing how he met his wife, Kelly.

She's a blonde, about five foot four, blue eyes, kind of red-headed skin.

Frank Colson's kind of pale complexion.

I took her out on a date for Valentine's Day and it was a debacle.

She said it was just a low-key kind of a dinner

with her and her roommate and, you know, boyfriend, she just didn't want to be a third wheel. And

it was a black tie event, you know, and I'm wearing a t-shirt and everyone else has got a suit and tie on

at a steakhouse where everything's a la carte and it's like $50 a meal with a bunch of stuff that I couldn't afford or like.

And so it really blew my budget out. I was really upset about it. And then she kissed me on the cheek and I was kind of whatever.
