sermon series. If you have ever gotten stuck in the rut of trusting in your works and even your good Christian

morality and your spiritual disciplines and being very put together in a number of ways and then forgetting that it's all

about affection for Jesus. Or maybe you've been a pastor and you've pounded the

people with the imperative commands and look I am a

pastor and I know the need for balance we can't just live in this sort of a theoreal thing

and make people feel good and go you're loved we have to actually call them to obey

Jesus you're preaching the indicative and the imperatives yes and amen but at

times we can be very heavy-handed for long stretches without reminding people of the soothing

healing bomb of the gospel and God's grace and his righteousness and the peace that comes from rooting everything we do in a love for Jesus.

If that's ever been you, Sinclair Ferguson is going to be a blessing. I've shortened or just narrowed the

let this sermon wash over our souls as we finish off this series.
