Summary

The first Beatitude that Jesus gave us in His Sermon on the Mount is about those who are poor in spirit. To be poor in spirit means to understand that in ourselves, we have nothing. Without Jesus, we are poor in spirit. We can do nothing without Him. An influencer for Jesus is one that relies completely on Jesus. In this episode we look at the life of Esther as a woman who was poor in spirit and knew she could not save her people in her own strength. She relied completely on Yahweh, the One, True and Living God.

0:15.0	This week we are learning all about what it means to be an influencer for Jesus.
0:20.0	Have you ever been watching TV, and all of the sudden a commercial comes on for your favorite cereal?
0:27.0	And you just know you have to eat some of that cereal because you just saw that commercial and it made you so hungry for that cereal.
0:37.0	Guess what? You were just influenced.
0:40.0	There are so many ways we are influenced all the time every day.
0:45.8	But you know what?
0:47.1	We get to be influencers for Jesus.
0:51.5	We can influence other people by the way we live, by the words we speak, by our actions.
0:59.0	When people see Jesus in us, they will want to know more about this Jesus. They can't help but be drawn to him.
1:08.3	So Jesus has given us ways that we can follow him and as we follow him other people will see us following
1:15.8	Jesus and they'll want to know more about what it is that causes us to want to
1:21.3	follow Jesus. Now you may be thinking, how can I be an influencer? I don't even
1:27.5	have a YouTube channel or a podcast. Let me let you in on a little secret. Do you have family members? Do you have siblings? Do you have friends?
1:38.0	Well then you have the ability to influence those around you.
1:42.0	And if we are going to influence those around us for Jesus, then we have to follow him. As we follow
1:48.0	him, others will look at our lives and how we live and they will be drawn
1:52.2	to Jesus through us.
1:54.0	So Jesus gave us a set of eight ways we can follow him and also influence others as we follow him.
2:01.0	He called these the Beatitudes. The Beatitudes are part of a sermon
