And we all know the perfect companion for a vacation or even just trying to kill some time in the long

hot days of the summer is a book, a really good book.

But how to find the right books?

That's the question.

Luckily, if you're looking for some history related stuff to read I've got a few suggestions for you

these books cover a bunch of different periods of time different approaches to history and I think you'll

really enjoy them but before we hop into my book recommendation specifically, I think we should stop for a few

seconds and talk about what makes for a good summer history read.

Now obviously that's going to depend on what you're looking for what you want to read about but I think there are a few things that stand out

Lots of books can be good but not necessarily for a summer read you know when you're out there you're lying you're out there, you're lying on that

chase lounge or you're lying on a towel or you're lying on a beach or something, you

don't want just any book. You don't want something dry, you want something that's

going to keep you engaged. So how does a book do that? Well, first of all, you need

narrative. The book needs to tell a story. And along those lines, it should have some good

characters on whom you can focus. Otherwise you're just reading
