0:05.6	It's been a real hoot panning our archives for Nuggets of Gold.

0:17.3	Back in 1996, when I was NPR's media reporter and Bob was a reporter on contract with all things considered, we were friends.

0:28.1	Anyway, one day we were both feeling restless and we decided to write a sitcom called Pledge This, said at an NPR affiliate, kind of like the Mary Tyler Moore Show or WKRP in Cincinnati.

0:46.7	The CPB panel of program managers that approved grants famously detested it.
0:53.1	So it gathered dust until on the media came along and after waiting a couple of years just to be safe, we produced it for radio.
1:01.5	Even got some actual actors, Janine Garofalo, Fred Willard, and Tony Shaloobe.
1:06.4	Just remember, being nearly 20 years old, this is now a period piece set in a pre-internet entirely analog era.
