I said on Friday that the depths of Summer League were upon us and now there are just

two teams standing in Las Vegas.

Famer Steve, Dr. A. Alexander. Memphis in Miami are probably secretly

pissed that they have to stick around, but they'll try to get every ounce of

development out of it in tonight's championship game. As everybody's turning the

page on Summer League, we're going to take stock of what we saw.

And then we're also going to quickly check in on whatever the hell is happening with Team USA,

but before we do that, let's bring in Steve Alexander.

I'm going to kind of put you on the spot here a little bit, Steve.

I want to know when you're in your prime and you're tracking down NBA athletes or whatever

athletes and getting them to give you their shoes.

Did you ever have any interactions with players

in like a team USA capacity?

Interesting.

Kind of. kind of, I don't even remember the details, but Isaiah Thomas gave me his converse after a I believe it was after a team USA exhibition game at the Hoosier Dome in maybe 1980, I don't know the year, 84 and it was at the time the largest attendance in the history of basketball in

general I think are like 80,000 people.

Because that arena holds like 100,000 plus, right?

Yeah, I don't even know. It was the Hoosier dome. It's long gone, but yeah, I got Isaiah's shoes after that game and I remember

We had seats that my mom bought them or I bought them me and my brother went and I remember we were at the very, very top of the Hoosier Dome underneath the video board and I could not identify any player from where we were sitting.

So I who knows who I was crazy. We were so far up that we couldn't tell who was who.
