Welcome to The Girl Next Door. I'm Kelsey. And I'm Erica. In every episode, we bring our different

perspectives to candid conversations that feel like chatting with good friends. We started this show

years ago when we were next door neighbors and still haven't run out of things to talk and laugh about

yet. We have an interesting topic today.

We'll be doing five senses portraits of summer. We'll talk about each of our five senses and what

comes to mind from our childhood summers and our more recent summers. This is an idea inspired once

again by Gretchen Rubin's Happier podcast.

And so I will link to one of her episodes where she talks about this.

I also love this because I love nostalgia.

So I thought this would be a fun way to reflect and then also to be present in life right now.

forget. That will be a fun one. Okay, we're going to be talking about our five senses portraits

of our childhood summers, but to set the stage for that, let's remind listeners where we each grew up

and give just a brief description of our childhood summers to paint that picture. Okay, so I grew up

in Racine, Wisconsin, which is a city, like, kind of in between Milwaukee and Chicago, and it is

on Lake Michigan. So Lake Michigan, you know, definitely was featured in our childhood summers.
