Summary

This week, the Mamas are recording from the Happiest Place on Earth! Right in the middle of the tour - while Melanie stayed on the east coast - Codie and Ashley are joined by their families at Disneyland Resort for a special summer check-in filled with laughter, reflections, and a little bit of Disney magic. From celebrating Asiyah's birthday and debating the best rides to swapping summer plans and parenting updates, this was the family time the Mamas needed. The Mamas also open up about the bittersweet reality of watching their children grow up. Ashley shares why this summer is all about supporting Amirah as she prepares for college tours and her future beyond home, while Codie reflects on balancing work, rest, and making meaningful memories with her kids. And because no Mama conversation stays on one topic for long, the episode ends with stories about first crushes, first boyfriends, and the surprisingly sweet qualities their children value in "a crush". It's a joyful, lighthearted reminder that the seasons of motherhood move fast—and every stage deserves to be savored. Whether you're planning an epic vacation or just trying to make it through summer break, this episode is your reminder to slow down, enjoy your kids, and make the memories while you can. Because one minute you're pushing a stroller... and the next you're planning college tours. And I hated going to swim parties and feeling like I had to be like all over them. Yeah, I'm still like that. Girl. Told you about the time I had to jump in. Yes. Someone else just told me a story about that. They were at, she had a wig on. She said her child, she was like, don't walk in the pool. Don't walk in the pool and her just looked back at her and was like, I'm going and just dropped in it. She had to jump in there.

And she had to jump in there. She said she had a wig on and fall. I was like, first of all, why would you ever wear a wig to like a swim party? That just seems like a very bad combination. She had no intention of getting in that water. What's up, y'all? It's Ashley. I'm Melanie. And I'm Cody. And this is the Mama's Den Where Motherhood needs real talk

and all the stuff we're not supposed to say out loud, even though we'd be thinking it. Whether you're raising kids or a part of the village, this is a space for you. Let's get into it. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Mama's Den podcast. We're at Disney and there is no Melanie. Wait, you actually sang. Yeah, because she's not here. Oh, thank you. As you can see, Melanie is not here. And that is because we are still on tour. We are still on tour. Yes, but we are so excited to be here at Disneyland. We got this beautiful invitation and it happened right on Asia's birthday, which is amazing. That part. I thought you were going to say right on time, in which case I would say, well, we're between Pittsburgh and Philly as far as this tour. Yes. But yes, it is Osia's birthday. We left Pittsburgh. We came to L.A. We came to Disney. We partied with our children. And we are leaving today to go back to Philly to our last show on the tour.

1:33.2

Yes. And we're, it's been like really amazing. I think that the week started out chaotic because it was like, at least for me, I'm packing for Chicago, Pittsburgh.

1:43.9

Yep. Disney. But my children don't know that.

1:46.5

Yeah.

And so hiding bags and ordering things online to make sure that they've got everything that they need.

And yeah, so when I left Pittsburgh, I flew straight to L.A.X.

1:59.4

They picked me up and we just drove and they were like, where are we going?

2:02.3

Why aren't we going home? So that's how I ended up here. We, so I told the kids, I had to tell them because, you know, my sweet little Virgo Azara, she was asking me every detail. What are we doing Friday's birthday? And I was like, we're going to just stay at a hotel because that's the thing for them. I'm like, can we stay at a hotel?

2:16.8

And I was like, we're staying at a hotel.

2:18.4

She's like, so are you going to pack first before you?

2:20.1

I was like, whoa, relax kid. So when I got home, I unpacked my bag, packed my bag for Philly, took another bag and just packed all of our stuff together, washed two people's hair, did four loads of laundry, and then we drove to Disney. And that is why I don't have any makeup on, because I forgot my makeup. But you have great skin. Thank you. You know, I'm just trying to wash it. I told her, y'all, that she has to show and prove because she did this amazing post where she was, like, doing her little light beat before one of our shows. Uh-huh. And what did you say in the caption?

2:51.0

I said, I try to take care of my skin so that I do not have to wear makeup. Okay. Yeah. Well, you do a good job. Thank you. A little beautiful. Just a girl. Okay. Well, okay, so one of the cool things about being here right now is that it is the 70th anniversary of Disneyland. Disneyland resorts? Yes.

park hopper passes. We're kids ages 3 to 9, which is really amazing. I cannot believe the amount of times you have not been to Disney. This blows my mind. You know, when we first moved here, we moved to Anaheim. We were down the street. So instead of buying, like, passes to the aquarium, I got Disneyland passes for us, like annual passes. So we used to come, me and Mira would come to Disney for like two hours.

3:41.3

Instead, I hate the park.
