I found my first love in drugs.

Everything that I felt that was bad and heavy disappeared.

I overdosed 12 times on heroin and fentanyl.

That didn't stop me. And I spent 30 years in addiction.

I'm in this hotel room.

There's a number that you call.

And after you inject whatever drugs you're doing, if you don't respond,

they'll call the paramedics, so you don't have to die. Because I'm calling this number,

I realize something inside of me wants to live. I said the most honest prayer I've ever said in my

life. I was like, whoever you are, I can't do this anymore.

I start going to these 12-step meetings, and my sponsor started inviting me to Church of the Highlands.

I was like, okay, I'm gonna go.

And he met me there.

It didn't feel like I had to perform or look a certain way.

It just felt like love in that church.

So Pastor Chris was like, can you just commit to one year?

Just one year.

And I thought, man, I can do that.

And so on February the 4th I got baptized, I joined a freedom group and I went to the freedom Conference this past weekend and oh my gosh, whoa.

Freedom too showed me more masks that I've been wearing.

They just created this space where I felt safe enough to be honest.
