Summary

How should Christians think about suicide and heaven, baptism and christenings, and the biblical teaching of the Trinity? In this episode of Ask NT Wright Anything, Tom Wright unpacks your questions on some of the most sensitive and foundational questions of the Christian faith. Together, Tom and Mike reflect on the pain and complexity of suicide, affirming the reach of God’s grace even in our darkest moments. One listener asks, is believers baptism appropriate when you have been baptised as a baby? And finally, they explore the doctrine of the Trinity, tracing its roots in the New Testament and its development in early church history. Got a question for Tom? address, at least in a pastoral way, in a theological way, and then ask, what does the Bible

1:04.2

say about this? And what do we say on the basis of the Bible? So, Tom, I'm going to read a

couple of questions we have. The first one is from

Andrew Mason in Newcastle, the United Kingdom, where he asked this. I once led an RE lesson

with six classes of Year 7 pupils in a middle school. To end each lesson, I did a grill a Christian section and let them put questions into a tub,

and I drew random ones to try and answer.

1:36.3

Without any warning, I got the question,

1:39.3

Why does God let people commit suicide?

1:43.3

Try answering that question with no time print.

1:48.2

I know what I said, what's your answer?

1:51.5

So this is addressed to Tom, but we've got a very similar question.
