Some of picture organic clothing sustainability practices are familiar. Recycled nylon and

polyester, responsibly sourced wool, organic cotton,

PFC-free DWRs, the list goes on. But picture is going way beyond these more common practices

with things like castor bean oil waterproof membranes, sugar cane waste-derived polyester,

and they're attempting to eliminate polybags from their entire supply chain.

So I sat down with Pictures co-founder Julian Durant and their sustainability manager, Florian Paloel, to talk about these ambitious projects.

And of course, because this is Gear 30, we also go in-depth on the new air permeable membrane.

They are pitting head-to-head with Gore Pro and FutureLight called Expoor.

Will you guys just quickly introduce yourselves, explain your role at Picture and how you ended up where you are.

I'm one of the picture co-founder.

I've started picture with my two best friends 12 years ago now,

with a vision of starting a brand fully sustainable involved.

And when we grew up with my two best friends, snowboarding, skateboarding together, we really

comes from the board sports culture.
