I'm going to go straight down to Westminster now because time is of the essence.

Hamish Falkender joins us. He's MP for the Labour Party Foreign Office Minister of course. He's on College Green.

Thanks very much for joining us. The papers this morning don't make particularly pleasant reading for the Prime Minister.

Sue Gray ousted as PM wields the knife.

Gray ousted in Labor coup, it says.

I mean, it's made the main story in most of the newspapers, apart for the Daily Mirror,

funnily enough, who don't seem to mention it at all. But is this a bad day for Labour or is it a new beginning?

Well look I want to say because Sue Gray is a member of staff she can't really defend herself because she's not a politician.

So she's a dedicated public servant. She's done a lot for this country both as a civil servant and then in Kirstama's team and she's going to continue to have a role.

But the Prime Minister can, it's obviously

up to him to make what decisions he needs for how number 10 operates and that's what he's done.

And this new role, but he did appoint her personally and she was supposed to be the woman

in charge of the first 100 days of this new Labour government, but she didn't even last 100 days.

She lasted 93 days. Well, I think it's, you know, anytime we've come into

government, there's a lot of new and different challenges, and it's up to the Prime Minister to

organise the team, how he sees fit. But honestly, Mike, I don't think people in my constituency

in Lincoln are very focused on who is inside number 10. They're focused on who is the Prime

Minister, are we delivering, and are we getting on with the job, which I think we are.

Yeah. Well, they're also probably focused on the fact that you're going to take away their winter fuel allowance and it's going to get colder pretty soon and they won't be able to put the heating on because they won't be able to afford it.
