Hi, this is Josh Marshall, and this is the Josh Marshall podcast.

You know, yesterday was it seems to have been a fairly pivotal day in this long,

I don't know whether you want to call it a long march or just this long drama over the course of the year for the president's agenda.

And here we're talking specifically about, you know, it's it's it's moved through so many different names,

hard infrastructure, soft infrastructure, reconciliation, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

But yesterday, and I did a post about this yesterday because yesterday afternoon,

because over the course of the day, there were a series of reports saying seemingly pretty definitively,

okay, this part of the package that's done, like not cut, it's out, it's not going to be there at all.

One of the things was a free community college, you know, one of the one of the basic parts of the thing,

not cut back, it's out, it's out of the plan. And then there were other reports, well, okay, you know,

child tax credit, we thought it was going to be this, actually, it's going to be pulled back.

It's not going to be as many years, it's going to be this, it's going to be that, there's going to be means testing.

And through that, and this is just kind of my bias, because to me,

the climate parts of this are kind of sui generous, like everything's important.

But, you know, we can wait a few decades for social democracy, right?

We can't wait a few decades to save the climate.

And there's been some pretty hard news on the climate front too.
