Nesvrine Malick grew up in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

She moved away as an adult, but returned regularly and was back early last year to visit friends and family.

It was the last days of Ramadan, people were preparing for Eid. There were lots of soldiers on the street,

but nothing too out of the ordinary.
