Hi, thanks for having me.

In our last episode, we discussed Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather, a crime epic about the Corleone family

and the sons who stand to take over the family business when he steps down. There's a similar

dynamic at play in the new Sean Durkin film, the Iron Claw, which is about the Von Erick family

and the sons vying to take over that business. The godfather is about gangsters and the Iron Claw

is about wrestlers, but somehow

they're both equally dangerous work. Much of the action in the Iron Claw takes place in Texas

in the late 70s and 80s, as the Von Erich boys plan to take the wrestling world by storm.

The Don Vito of this bunch is Fritz von Erich, played by Holt McElanie, a former wrestling

heel who still burns from never getting a shot at the World Wrestling Championship belt.

And so he turns to his boys to make that dream come true.
