Summary

Entrepreneurs thrive off of a perceived sense of momentum.

That’s why Ryan created this process he walks the community through called “Success Stacking”

It involves looking back at your recent past and small wins to carry that momentum with you forward into the present.

This exercise only takes 5 minutes and any business owner should feel renewed and motivated after going through it.

Hi, everyone. Welcome to the show. I'm Ryan Danaman. This is capitalism.com. Hey, I'm going to share with you

0:09.7

an exercise today that I do with my clients, with our customers, specifically to build up momentum.

0:16.9

As entrepreneurs, we kind of thrive on momentum. When we feel like the momentum is going against us,

0:24.1

we tend to get lonely and depressed. Or maybe I'm projecting onto you. This isn't anything

0:30.1

that's happened to me ever. But when you've got momentum on your side, you feel like you can

0:35.6

conquer the frigging world. You can do anything.

0:38.2

You've got the golden touch. Everything that you touch is going to work. We are momentum creatures.

0:45.1

So as entrepreneurs, when we're in a rut or when we're going through a hard time, one little

0:50.5

little tiny speck of momentum can sometimes pull us out of a period of procrastination

0:56.7

and feeling stuck and feeling like things are never going to work out. So I have a process that I go

1:02.2

through myself and that I've put through a lot of our clients and customers. And I have tested

1:06.9

this across the board with people that we've invested in inside of the capitalism fund.

1:11.3

I do it myself. I've tested it with some of our higher end students inside of the capitalism

1:16.3

incubator. And I have done it on coaching calls inside of the 1%. Across the board, I get messages

1:22.0

from people who say that this was really helpful for them if they were feeling stuck or unmotivated

1:27.0

or that they were procrastinating.

1:28.7

And I call this exercise success stacking. Now the kind of secret is in the name. We're going to

1:35.0

stack successes on top of one another in order to build up some momentum. But we're not just going

1:40.5

to do it by saying what we can do or what we could do or what might work or what we're

1:47.1

going to do in the future. We start this process by going into the past to see where there is

1:52.9

already momentum and then we're going to carry that forward. The reason we do it this way and the reason

1:58.2

why this is so effective is because our brains are telling us a
