What's going on, everybody? Welcome to the Zoe Church podcast. Hey, we are just two weeks away from opening our new building in Highland Park. We are so excited about it. We just want to take a second to thank everyone that has given to our new beginnings campaign. We could not have done this without you. Over the last nine years, we have seen God do some incredible things through multiple

different venues. And now we have our own permanent venue. Thank you so much to everyone who

has sacrificially given to our church. We love you and we're thankful for you. Today,

we are excited because Pastor Julia is bringing the word. The title of her message today is

failing forward. Check this out. But we have been in a series

about the life and the lessons that we're learning from David. And he is mentioned in the Bible

more than any other man just under Jesus. He's mentioned several, several times. There is a lot to learn

from his successes, his wins, but also from his failures that we're going to talk about today.

He was a young kid in Israel that God appointed him and he chose him.

And he got this great nickname.

God said, I'm just going to give you this nickname.

You're one that's a man after my own heart.

That's pretty good if you're asking me.

But he was an ordinary kid, a shepherd boy, and he fell into this role

of being selected. And he was just an ordinary kid that God called him to do extraordinary things.

And he became king and, well, he first defeated Goliath. And they won the

battle and he became king. And then Saul got jealous. And Chad talked about this, that he tried to

kill him. So David went and he hid in caves and in the wilderness for a season.

And then he, life was good for a bit.

And he had victories and he had successes.

He was flourishing.

And just like much of life, there is a rise and there's a fall.
