Welcome to Intuitive Astrology with Molly McCord. Thank you so much for joining me today as this is a Monday podcast episode where we focus on a specific astrological topic.

0:12.3

And today we're going to be looking at the energetics of your part of fortune. Yes, we're going to look at what this means, how we arrive at this particular

0:24.8

sensitive point in a chart, and also the significance of it for you in this lifetime. So I'm going

0:33.0

to start with the basics and then move further into the interpretation and evolutionary understanding

0:39.9

of the part of fortune. Now the part of fortune is an Arabic point in the astrological

0:46.5

chart. An Arabic points are where we use formulas to calculate a particular location or degree point. And so when we're talking about the

0:57.9

part of fortune, we use a calculation that shows us where that is in your chart. But you don't have

1:06.4

to go grab a calculator because there are many free calculators online as well as on astro.com and other

1:15.7

astrology websites and apps that will calculate it for you. But it's important to understand how

1:21.5

we arrive at the part of fortune in your chart. It's also called Fortuna and Pars Fortuna. So it has a few

1:30.7

different names, but we commonly will say part of fortune. You might also hear it referred to as

1:37.1

the lot, the lot of fortune. Now one of the reasons why I think the part of fortune is so wonderful

1:43.3

to understand is because

1:45.6

it's the calculation between your big three in your chart. Your big three being your sun,

1:54.1

your moon, and your rising sign. And because it's an Arabic point, we use the calculation to

2:00.3

determine where your part of fortune is.

2:03.5

So think of it as this beautiful point of alchemy in your chart where your rising sign,

2:11.9

moon sign, and sun sign energies converge. They converge together through their own specific relationships to create this

2:23.0

part of fortune location in your chart. Now, there's two ways that the part of fortune is

2:30.6

calculated. There is a method for day charts and for night charts. And don't worry, I'm going to

2:37.5

explain all this so that you understand exactly what I mean. In astrology, you have a day chart if your

2:45.3

son is in the top six houses. So if your son's sign is in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th houses,
