Make it turn. Thank you. This is hell. Truly revolting radio, this is hell and more than likely, like me. You get a truly revolting

image in your head when you hear the words, the suburbs or the

burbs as they are often derogatorily known.

When you hear those words, you may imagine a Lily white place outside of the reach of the city and the people

who dwell there, a place where racism is both visible and invisible.

At times blatant and for all the world to see while at others it can only be heard

through dog whistles or is just completely unrecognizable by those who are

engaging in racism whether they realize they are engaging in racism or not.

It's a place where the homes are nearly indistinguishable from one another,

just like its residents.

A place where those who have left the city behind are searching for their

American dream of finally rising from the blue collar jobs of the working class, to the white collar

jobs of the professional and middle classes,

a place that drives inequality in the ideas of us versus them.

However, as suburbs are growing increasingly, ethnically, racially, and religiously diverse.

Maybe, just maybe, the suburbs are leaving all that racism, that inequality, that

us versus them thinking behind.
