Mark Trujillo is with me today. And if you're not familiar with his work go over to savvy painter.com there's some examples up there for you. Mark paints suburban landscapes. He chooses vast sprawling environments in which figures are dwarfed by their surroundings.

Up front, I'm going to tell you that this is a long episode, but Mark really packs it in with some great information. There's actually two full

with Mark was. Because we talk about a lot of stuff. Mark candidly talks about

his process. He goes into detail about materials and how and why he chooses things like canvas size, how to set up his palette, how to combine photography with life drawing and what the best brands of paint are.

He has done some extensive testing and again if you go to the show notes you're going to see some of the results of that

test. It's really interesting. Mark got his masters at Yale. He shares his

experience there and he answers my question, was worth it then we talk about his mentor

Andrew Forge and what Mark learned about making personal statements with your

art being arty and by the way what does being already mean

mean. mean.
