The water This is Hell.

Behind every great fortune lies a great crime because this is hell. Remember how Crypt bros told us their fancy new currency was

going to be unlike anything before, which it turned out to be true, but not for the reasons

they claimed, and how it would be something completely outside of the state, a perfectly democratic

asset that could make anyone rich instead of further lining the pockets of the already wealthy,

the status quo whose ancient views of the economy and finances, with their continued

dependence on the state and cash reserves, being way out of date when it came to the newly disrupted market.

Well, it turns out cryptocurrency seems to be nothing more than a scam propped up by the richest of the rich,

by big investors, by their allies in government, and by state regulators, which help protect it

from the fluctuations that any financialized commodity experiences, but not cryptocurrency.

Rather than being something outside the state, instead it has become something embraced

by the state, despite its vast resource consumption, forcing communities to experience blackouts

and water shortages from resources being diverted to cooling crypto mining operations.

So you might not be able to get a drink of water, but at least you know, cryptocurrency is being mined.

Then there's the diminishing quality of life around such

crypto mining facilities and the inability of their neighbors to redress their grievances related

to those operations. In the big picture, there's the massive increase in energy use that Texas,

for instance, is planning with their huge expansion in crypto mining throughout the rest of this decade alone.

All of this cryptocurrency business is taking up way too much energy in an era when we should be cutting energy consumption to protect the people and the planet from worsening climate change.
