Summary

As we continue in our series, “Forged,” JP reminds us that believers in Christ are called to submit to authority. JP looks to 1 Peter to remind us that to best submit to authority, we must first seek to glorify the Lord and be representatives of his Word.

1 Peter 2:13-25

1) Submit to every human authority

2) Submit unfair authority

3) God is our ultimate authority

0:40.4	But why? Don't play with it. But why, Daddy? Why? I don't understand, but why. Which led me to a very
0:48.8	common response that I heard countless times. Anybody know what it was?
0:56.0	Oh, you all know.
0:57.2	Oh, okay.
1:01.9	Yeah, because I said so.
1:04.9	I hated that response so much that as an eight-year-old,
1:07.5	I vowed that I would never tell my children that.
1:15.2	And it was so dramatic for me that as a 20-something, 30-something, I remembered that vow. And so God, in his tremendous sense of humor and
1:25.7	heart for irony, gave me a son who asked why a lot.
