Well, turn with me this morning in the Bible to James the fourth chapter, please.

James chapter four, and then also find Romans chapter 13.

James chapter four and verse six says He, God gives more grace.

Wherefore he says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

How many acknowledge that you need His grace for everything?

Right?

Grace is one of the big words of the new testament included in the

concept of grace one definition of grace has to do with gift something that's given to you

something that is not earned or merited, it's just a free

gift, doesn't have to be deserved or earned. And in that one word, what has he given us? He gives us

mercy, he gives us strength, he gives us ability, he gives us wisdom, direction, help. I mean, there's so much in this one word grace.

Ability is there. How many need his ability and his strength, his direction and guidance and help for everything?

Well, who gets all this ability, this grace?

The humble. How about the proud and haughty? They don't get it. What do they get? They get

resisted by God. Now, you don't want to be resisted by God. You don't want God said, I'm against you.

With him against you? it ain't going to go.

Right? God's resisting you. Oh, but with the grace of God, God is helping you. He's assisting you.

He's enabling you.

And who gets that?

The humble.

Pride is one of the most terrible things in the human experience.

It is the very nature of the devil himself.
