Hello and an all and welcome to After the Checkered Flag, my F1 special series here on the

behind the glass podcast, where I am joined by Paul Wallace. Am I co-host yet? No, am I still a

guest? The IP guest, Paul Wallace is here, resident guest, resident guest, never seems to leave,

to reflect and review the latest Grand Prix as part of this, this insane Formula One season.

I love the track or Formula One, that's a gen as a whole. I was going to say, I love the

Austrian Grand Prix for mainly for the memories I have of it from the late 90s early

naughties, when it was the A1 ring, we had Hacke and then Coolthard and Schumacke and it was

there was always actually, it was just fun and it's a beautiful setting. I think every year I'm

like, yeah, Austria. And there have been some great races in recent years since they've returned

to the A1 ring or now the Red Bull ring. But in general, actually, when we think about it,

they're never that exciting. They are quite possession. I always feel like as well, the activities

around the race on Sunday, normally that Red Bull create themselves. You know, we had the Caravan

racing with Danny Rick and Verstapp and they did the drifting. This year they were up in the

plane and then they took those weird Austrian looking European trucks around racing. That content

in a way was actually more exciting and a little bit more enjoyable than the actual race itself.

So that's why I think there's always hype around the Austrian Grand Prix because we get that

buildup of Red Bull dropping a YouTube video that we all want to watch because it's like Sonoda

freaking out at this point. The Red Bull behind the scenes content with Sonoda was amazing.
