Well, as this is our 12,400 episode special, we're going to bring you an hour long episode, and I've

chosen something a little bit unusual. Anthony Adverse was a very well-known historical epic novel during the Golden Age of radio.

It's reference to every now and again.

When I first listen to this Studio 1 adaptation of a portion of the novel,

it really occurred to me that there were a lot of elements of the detective story as Anthony Adverse was essentially

task with solving a mystery involving some missing ship owners as well as missing collection.

My other reason for choosing to do it now is that it does feature Bud Collier.

He referred to as Clayton Collier, which is his given name, but he was known for many things on radio,

but most notably playing Superman.

And we've been doing the old-time radio Superman show for the past 10

years and we are nearing the end of that run at the end of February so I thought

this would be a good time to trot out Anthony Adverse.
